GENERAL

The MSU
Women’s Ice Hockey team is a member of the American Collegiate Hockey
Association (ACHA) and part of the CCWHA league. We pride ourselves on being a
competitive group women committed to excellence on the ice and having a
great time off it.
We
practice 3 times a week and compete against other college club teams in
the ACHA. Also, MSU
plays exhibition games against NCAA Division I and III varsity
teams, as well as local AAA teams.

PRACTICE/GAME
TIMES
|
|
The
green team practices on Monday at either 10:10pm or 11:10pm, Wednesday
at 5:45pm, and Thursday at 6:00am. Games are usually Fri/Sat nights
or Sat night/Sun afternoon. If
not played at Munn Ice arena, home games can be at Suburban Arena in East Lansing.
Away
games are scheduled according to CCWHA rules, and annual road trips are
taken to play competitive teams around the country.

TRY-OUTS
|
|
Tryouts
are always at the end of September for the upcoming season. Off-ice workouts will occur during
the entire month of September prior to official practice.
|
SEASONAL BUDGET
Budgets change from season to season, depending
on team expenses and amount of players rostered. For the 2007-08 season,
each player is responsible for $1500, which covers 2 semesters of ice
time and transportation costs for road trips. Any extra funds will be refunded at the
end of the season.
Once a player commits to
the team, they are required to pay all expense installments.

CLUB
AND TEAM MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA
|

1. Players must be members
of the MSU Women's Ice Hockey Club in order to be a member of the
team
|
|
2. Players must be enrolled
in at least half of the credit hours required of a full time student (NEW ACHA
RULE: players must complete at least 9 credit hours/semester)
|
|
3. All bills must be paid in
full in order to play on the team
|
|
4. All players must
participate in club fundraisers
|
|
5. All players must attend
all club meetings
|
|
6. Team rules regarding game
and practice attendance will be made by the coaches.
|
|
7. NEW ACHA RULE: All
players must have at least a 2.0 GPA by the beginning of their second
year and must maintain this GPA to be eligible.
